Paul Smith is a partner in our Cayman Islands Litigation and Insolvency practice group. He advises on commercial disputes and regulatory issues, and has extensive experience of complex international litigation, insolvency, fraud and asset tracing, and regulatory investigations. Paul also has significant experience of conducting arbitrations, both ad hoc and under various institutional rules (ICC, LCIA, SIAC, HKIAC, JCAA, etc.), as well as mediation. He has over 15 years’ experience acting for financial institutions, multinational corporations across various sectors and private individuals.
Before joining us in 2018, Paul spent 6 years at DLA Piper in London and was a partner in their Litigation & Regulatory practice. Prior to that, he worked for Herbert Smith Freehills in Tokyo for nearly 5 years, and spent the first 5 years of his career with Slaughter and May in London. Paul has also spent time on secondment at major investment and retail banks in the UK.
